[TNT Announce] WOMEN'S BUREAU VICTORY!

We have just learned that the proposed closure of the 10 Women's Bureau
regional offices will NOT occur for Fiscal Year 2003.  In an article in the
San Francisco Chronicle, Labor Department spokeswoman Sue Hensley says, "The
idea of contemplating the closure of the regional offices is completely off
the table," and that "The Secretary (of Labor Elaine Chao) did not want them
to be cut."  This is a victory for women, and for all of us who called and
protested the proposed elimination of the regional offices.  Thank you for
all your efforts!  Please disseminate this e-mail to your sister advocates
who have been working with all of us on this issue.
